Forever Families!

Truly a puppy that fits her name, sweet Angel came to us after an owner surrender to a shelter. Confused and nervous, we were lucky to have a foster, Sydney, who said, "I'll foster her!" And let me tell you, this little girl really does have angels looking out for her. First, she was spoiled by her foster and THEN she landed in the bestest place EVER!!!

Beth and David fell in love with her as soon as they met her! And we can honestly say the feeling was mutual. And she has her very own new BFF, Leah. She couldn't be happier and she and her furry sister have been best buds from the beginning.

Thank you Sydney for being her bridge to happiness and Beth, David, and Leah for being her happily forever! We are so very grateful.

Sweet Mama Maple came to us pregnant and delivered 11 puppies!!! Well, we introduced the Breakfast Club! Each puppy named after breakfast foods by their foster.

Sausage, now Silas also known as Si, found his forever family at one of our events, where he was in a little time out. Silos liked to let his siblings know who was boss. Well Loren and her husband asked, who's the one in time out and I said, well that's Sausage. He needed a little break Lol!!! Well, that was all it took. They both said, that's who we want to see and it was love at first sight all around!!! Soooo, Silas found himself in his forever home and they couldn't love him anymore than they do!!!

Special thanks to Taylor and her kids for not only whelping Mama, but keeping the whole family together for the 8 weeks to make sure the puppies were properly socialized by their Mama! Hats off to you Taylor. Your first whelping and ELEVEN babies!!! You guys are the greatest! Happy tails Silas. You couldn't have found a better home!!!

Scrapple, now Enzo, found his forever family at one of our events! Tyler met him and instantly fell in love! Tyler introduced him to his family and all were excited for this perfect match. Tyler has been the most diligent doggy Papa, as poor little Enzo struggled with diarrhea and a bit of a sensitive stomach. But Tyler never gave up and did everything he needed to do to make sure Enzo got what he needed. We are so grateful that the 2 of them found each other. Soooo, Enzo found himself in his forever home and Tyler couldn't love him anymore than he does!! They will be each other's BFFs. Of that we're certain!

Scrapple

Look who has found her forever home!!! Yes, it's Tootsie and they didn't even need the one week trial to make the decision :)!! When Ed & Kathy came to meet sweet Tootsie, it was love at first sight for everyone.

Tootsie came right up to them, wagging her tail and we could clearly see her saying, "Hey there, you're my people!"

Michael and Jess, who were fostering Tootsie, remarked that they haven't seen her do that before with any new people. Soooo, we all listened to Tootsie and fortunately Ed & Kathy felt the same way about her. So, off she went for her trial and before we knew it, they reached out and said, we don't need a week.... She's ours :)!

We couldn't be happier for little Tootsie. She has hit the lottery for sure! Special thanks to Michael and Jess for fostering her and helping her be her best, cutest little self. Thank you to Ed & Kathy for opening their hearts and home to the little gal. Smiles and love all around!!!

Sweet Lacy (formerly Glinda) was nervous in a loud shelter. Well, we couldn't have that, so she became an FBAR-NC foster baby!

Well, after only a couple of weeks, Lorraine just had to keep her! So, sweet Lacy has found her forever home and is such a happy pup! She really is the best girl! So, everyone wins with this adoption. Happy tails, sweet Lacy.... no more worries for you!

Lacy
Quasi Adoption

Sweet Quazi, now Addie, found herself in a noisy shelter. Not only was her skin in bad shape and she was underweight, but it was also thought that she was deaf. She just laid in her shelter and the lack of hope in her eyes was evident. Well, then along came Tammy who said, "I'll foster her!" So that she did! Not only did she foster her through her skin issues but she also helped her through her journey of heartworm treatment.

You see, Addie, had a tough road ahead of her, but Tammy and her husband were right by her side. And the best part of this story is that they will both be right by her side forever now!!! Sweet Addie wormed (no pun intended) her way into their hearts and they just couldn't let her go. She's a perfect addition to their family. Soooo, happy tails, Addie. No more worries for you. Only days filled with love and happiness.

Lemon Drop Adoption

A little sweet and a little spicy, Lemon Drop came to us in terrible shape! No meat on her bones, a tilt of her head because of muscle wasting and very anemic. Well, we couldn't not help. Sooo after amazing work with one of our fosters and the diligence and expertise of our vet teams, she's healthy and found her loving forever home!!!
So very grateful to Karley for fostering her and being the bridge to health and a life full of love!

And thank you to Amanda for being the pot of gold on the other end of that bridge. Lemon Drop, now Peaches, knew Amanda was her person from the very first time she met her. We are so very happy for our sweet and spicy little girl!! You will have an amazing life now 🥰🥰🥰

Lemon Drop
Bray

Look who found her most pawsome forever home.....It's Bray/Lady now Peanut!

This sweet girl was so scared and shutdown until Cassidy (foster) and her pup Winston worked their magic. She's now with her new best furry friend Daisy who is teaching her the ropes and making sure nothing scares her new best friend!!!

Special thanks to Cassidy and Winston.

YOU are miracle workers.

Thank you to Maria & Ken for giving her a chance.♥️ And most of all, Daisy, thank you for letting her be part of your pack!!!

Amber_Kaia

This sweet girl Kaia (formerly Amber) was looked over time and time again in the shelter and we have no idea why. BUT NO more! She has found her bestest home with an awesome family and furry sibling. She's just loving life now. Special thanks to Rebecca and Jackie for fostering her and helping her be her best self! Thank you to the Saas family for opening their hearts and home to sweet Amber, now Kaia. Thank you Koa for letting Kaia be part of your pack! ♥️♥️

Ethan adoption

Sweet Ethan (formerly Bingo) was a matted mess when he arrived, BUT with the care of his vet foster and the fabulous vets who help our sweet furry friends, he just blossomed! Very sweet little guy just waiting for his forever home. Well, he didn't have to wait long at all. Lorene and her daughters saw and met him and said, "THAT'S who we've been waiting for." And Ethan told us the very same thing!!! He's so happy with his new family and humans to love!!

Special thanks to Dr. Landers for fostering him and helping him be his best self!

Thank you to Lorena for saying "I have to have him" and to her daughters for making sure it happened! Happy tails, sweet Bingo!

Ethan adoption
Wiley Adopted

Look who landed the perfect little family. That's right, Wiley, who found himself in a shelter with a dream of finding a home. FBAR-NC wanted to make sure that happened, so Wiley was pulled from the shelter and placed in a lovely foster home with Sydney. And it wasn't long before he found himself in the perfect HOME with Ken and Nyla and let's not forget the best Little Big brother any one pup could ask for, “Gizmo”. Thank you, Syndey, for saying yes to foster Wiley.

And a Big Thank You to Ken and Nyla for giving Wiley the best possible home. Here's to all the new adventures and memories you guys will make.

Lucy Adopted

Lucy (who used to be Minnie) and her sister, were 2 of Heidi's puppies that we took under rescue. Alison reached out and was looking for a puppy to add 4 more paws to their household. Within a day, along came a rescue asking for help from us with a mama and her litter of puppies. We were able to take Mama and 2 of her puppies.... and the rest is history. Alison immediately said, "I want her!!!" and picked sweet Minnie (aka Lucy).

Sooooo, several vaccines, spaying, chipping, and vetting later, here she is in her bestest home with German & Alison. AND her bestest friend Louis who just loves his little sister — and, by the picture, the feeling is mutual!

Thank you Alison and German for fostering, then adopting this beautiful young lady. Thank you Louis for allowing her to be part of your pack!

Lucy and Louis
Arlo Adopted

Arlo, (who used to be Vader) was a puppy found at a gas station. All by himself, hungry and underweight, and no one came forward. So, one of our fosters picked him up and asked us for help. Of course we couldn't say no. So, she fostered him short term until we could find a foster and then Nikka stepped up and agreed to foster him.

Well, he went under Pebble's tutelage (remember Pebbles who is now a tripod?). Anywho, Vader began to learn manners. Then guess what???? Nikka's neighbors met Vader and said, "He's perfect. We would love to foster to adopt." And now the rest is history.

Vader, now Arlo, has found himself in the bestest home ever where he couldn't be more loved!!!

Thank you to our amazing fosters, Morgan and Nikka (and of course, Pebs), who helped this poor soul learn to trust and what it means to be loved.

Special thanks to Marty & Jodi for giving him an amazing forever home!!!! Fostering DOES save lives and adopting, not shopping, usually ends in sunshine and rainbows!

Angel, and her sister BlackJack, were stuck in a high-kill, loud kennel. The two so scared and not sure of their futures. Well, we couldn't have that now could we???
Soooo, they both got a jail break. Sweet BlackJack, now Luna, found her home with her foster parents and... guess what???? So did Angel, now Darla!!! Her foster parents said, "Oh, she can't go anywhere. We just love her!"
So, the rest is history. Sweet Darla is now living her best life with her new mama, papa, and furry little best friend, too. Happy tails, sweet girl! No more worries for you!

Thank you Emily and Cole for saying yes to fostering and now yes to forever!

Luna fka Blackjack's adoption_edited.jpg

Little Blackjack was in a noisy shelter with her sister Angel, and we just couldn't have that! Soooo, once again, our amazing fosters, Rick and Mary, said YES!!! Well the rest is history. Sweet Angel, now Luna, wiggled her way into their hearts and became Raven's very best friend. Some call this a foster failure, but I like to think of it as a foster success!!! Thank you Rick and Mary for not only saying yes to foster but now opening your hearts and home to Luna for her forever place. She will have the very best life with you both and her furry sister Raven. Raven, thank you for letting Luna be part of your pack!!! Happy tails!

Baron's adoption

Sweet Baron came to us with heartworms, just a sweet, shy kinda guy. Well, he not only made new friends, he also found his very own forever home, with his very own furry sister Stella!Baron was lucky enough to have Mary and Rick say YES to fostering him and getting him started on his journey back to health. And then, their friends, Carol and Stephen, saw Baron and wanted to meet him. The rest is history! Stephen and Carol, along with sweet Stella, helped Baron through all of his heartworm treatments. You will have the bestest life Baron!!!! So very grateful to Carol and Stephen. Special thanks to sweet Stella for letting Baron be part of your pack :)!!!!Thank you Rick and Mary for helping save this little man!

Baron and his sister Stella
Cookie

Cookie got adopted!!!

Sweet Cookie was just in a little ball in the shelter but just as sweet as she could be. Our fosters came to meet her and immediately said YES, we'll foster her! They were so quick to say they would take her that day so she didn't have to spend one more day in the scary, noisy place.

Danielle and her daughter Emmy helped Cookie become her best self. Danielle, who has fostered over 30 pups before coming to NC told us that Cookie was the easiest pup she has ever fostered. Cookie fell in love with her foster family but she knew she was going to get her very own family to love and boy did she!!!

Along came Terry and Timothy and everyone knew, most importantly Cookie, that this was going to be her family!

Cookie now watches over the children, a job she just loves, and makes sure her new Mama and Papa are doing well. She's got herself a nice big yard that she can romp around in but more importantly, a couch she can just hang out on. Cookie, you hit it big and we couldn't be happier.

Special thanks to Danielle and Emmy for helping Cookie be her very best self!

Sweet Cara, who was found by a Good Samaritan (Tammy), was in need of help. This sweet Belgian Malinois Shepard mix is just a puppy at about 9mos and sadly no one came forward to claim her. Her Angel Tammy asked us for help and fortunately we had fosters, Eline and Chris, who had experience with Bel Mals and said, "We'll foster her!" Well, what a great job they did with this sweet girl. Ollie, Carter, & Blondie and all the kitties were instrumental, as well, in helping Miss Cara become her best self.

Then along came Annette and Dane and their family, and we knew right away this was a perfect fit. We were soooo excited but not more excited than Cara when she met her future family!!

This was a journey for Miss Cara and one that is ending with happily ever after and we couldn't be happier!!! Enjoy your life sweet girl with your family who loves you to the moon and back!!!

Kara now Cara adoption
Cali

Sweet Cali has had a rough time of it in her young life so far. Owner surrendered after being hit by a car, she sustained fractures to both her back legs. She was underweight and really didn't know what it was to be a dog.... Her journey to recovery really did take a village! After surgery, Morgan helped her through her acute postoperative phase (along with Morgan's furry family), tirelessly doing rehab and bringing her to her Physical Therapy appointments. Cali quickly became a favorite among the ECVR (Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referralstaff, particularly Lydia who spent so much time with her while Morgan had her at work.
Then the next step in her journey was led by another one of our amazing fosters, Heather. She and her family (including her furry family) helped Cali learn more about being a pup and took over from Morgan.

Throughout her whole journey, Lydia kept her eye on sweet Cali and guess what!!?? When it was time, Lydia took her under foster care with the plan to adopt once her journey to recovery was completed.
We are so happy to share that Cali has had a full recovery and is now soooo loved by her sweet mama, Lydia. Welcome home Cali!!! No more days of fear, unknown times.... life will be good from this point forward!! Thank you to ECVR, Dr. Talbot, our vets at College Road Animal Hospital, and especially to Morgan and Heather for being her bridge to a happily ever after!!!

Flower now Poppy

Today is National Dog Day and LOOK who got her bestest wish!!!! Yes, it's Flower, now Poppy. If you remember, this is the little puppy that was found in a ditch without being able to move her back legs. One look in this little girl's eyes and we knew she was a fighter and we couldn't say no when asked to take her under rescue.

Her fosters, Gina & David worked diligently to help, along with the vets from

Lady

Congratulations to sweet Lady, now June, and her foster (now adopted!) mama Molly who have found each other!

June (formerly Lady) came to us pregnant and heartworm positive! She delivered 9 healthy puppies despite how she felt. She was a GREAT mama!!! Poor June had a really rough go of it. Her heartworm disease treatment had to wait until she was through nursing all of her babies. Then it was time for June. She struggled through the injections BUT she was a trooper and her foster mama Molly (soon her adopted mama) was there for all of it! Right by her side, helping her through the pain of the injections and then through the spay! It was a long journey for sweet June BUT she couldn't have landed in a better place, with her BFF Molly right by her side.

Special thanks to Rebecca and Jackie for being willing to help June through her preparation for delivery and then her subsequent delivery. She did NOT have an easy journey to health BUT she had a village behind her!! Now June and all her sweet puppies have found their forever homes.

You did so well, sweet June! Enjoy your amazing life with your BFF Molly right by your side!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Although ALL of our adoptions are so very special to us, this one, in particular, hits our soul!!! Sweet Cowboy, now Rocco, has found his very special forever home!

As many of you know, our rescued and scared Cowboy escaped from his foster home. He was on the loose in Wilmington for 6 LONG days and nights before he was finally trapped with the immense help of our village and Lost Dog Rescue!!! We will be FOREVER grateful for all the outpouring of help this little guy received to get him safely back to his foster, Diane. After making sure that Cowboy was medically okay, she and her furry pack helped him decompress and get more comfortable again. But for him, being comfortable was still being scared......

It was time for an extended trial with a new family to assure that Cowboy would adjust. Alexis and Joe couldn't have been more patient with this little guy! Cowboy, now Rocco, is still a little nervous around men, but Joe has such a calming presence that little Rocco is understanding that Joe is really his buddy. With help, too, from his furry sister Ruby, we knew he was going to be okay. We just knew that this was the absolute right family for him! When we asked Alexis if they thought they would adopt him, her response was so overwhelming that it brought tears to our eyes. Alexis said, "I think I was meant to meet him," and we couldn't agree more!

You see, we love all of our pups/puppies, but a few hold a special place in our hearts, and Cowboy/Rocco was one of those that wormed his way deep into our heart and soul.

Cowboy, now Rocco, has his VERY OWN forever family and he NEVER has to be scared again!!! VERY special thanks to Diane (his foster) for helping him on his journey! We couldn't be more grateful for our village and for the honor of helping this little guy finally find happiness!!!

Thank you Ruby for letting Rocco be part of your pack. We love you, too!!!! Sorry, not sorry, for the long post :)

Jiff

Poor, sweet Jiff, now Remi, was soooo scared at the shelter that he would just lie there. He wouldn't move if you leashed him. He was stuck in a place in his brain where he was just terrified! Well, we couldn't let him stay like that in a loud shelter, so he went to one of our amazing fosters, Sandy. It took time, but he began to engage with her pups and people. He was at an event and although still very nervous, he did walk a little on leash. Well then he saw another pup, a large and friendly golden, and he did a 180. We KNEW at that point that he HAD to have another pup in his forever home.

Welllllll, along came Wendy and her Anatolian pup Cloud. It was love at first sight!! Remi is such a different pup than when we pulled him out of the shelter. It's just amazing and without our foster network, this would never have happened for this guy. Thank you Sandy for saying yes and helping sweet Remi on his journey to a happily ever after. We are so very grateful.

Thank you Wendy for giving him time and thank YOU Cloud for letting him be part of your pack!!!! ❤️

Well, we definitely think that Nico, now Rustyn, DOES have the best new parents in town, that's for sure!!! Special thanks to Kate for helping him be his best self!!! Mocha #2, now Mokatu, is so happy in her new forever home!! No more stuck out in the cold with little human contact! Now just warm beds and bunches of love.

Mokatu is here today because a Good Samaritan saw something and did something. Fortunately the owners surrendered her and JUST in the knick of time. Poor Mokatu needed emergency surgery for pyometria and also had a HUGE stone in her bladder. She would not have survived without help and would have died a painful and lonely death. BUT here she is, now living her best life.

Thank you so much Leslie for saying yes to fostering her and then falling in love with her.

We love you so much Mokatu!! ♥️ ♥️ ♥️

Sadie Mae 3
Sadie Mae 2

Sweet little Sadie has found her forever home with Debbie. And boy is she happy!!! She even has a middle name all her own.....Sadie Mae. Poor little gal "found" with her son (who got adopted) was just thrown away for no reason! She just needed someone to love her and help her be her best self. Rob and family came to the rescue and said yes when we reached out.

Unfortunately, their young one had allergies to Sadie so our new foster Cassidy said, "I can help!" And, boy, help she did! Sadie continued to blossom with Cassidy and her new furry sibling, Winston. Despite their size difference, Winston was a GREAT big brother (literally and figuratively). We couldn't be happier for Sadie Mae and most grateful to our fosters (human and furry) who help all our pups be their best selves!

Little Tinkerbell, now June, has found her forever home and boy is she lovin' it!! She even has a furry sister, Reba, that she can annoy 🤣😊

Waffles adoption pic 4
Waffles 1

Waffles just got adopted and hit the jackpot!!!

What a forever home it is. She is so doted on and loved and soooo very happy! It makes our hearts smile to see this.

Miss Waffles had a go of things for sure..... Came into the shelter matted and scared. Didn't want to come up to anyone and we're sure all her mats were so painful. We reached out to one of our new fosters, Liz, and she said "YES! I will help her" and boy did she!!!

This little gal really exemplified the term "when a village comes together, miracles happen...."

Well, Rebecca got her all fixed up with a grooming that ended up needing to be more of a shave. Liz took care of Waffles through her time immediately after spay and boy did she have a time. Poor little Waffles' incision kept opening slightly and she needed to go back not once, but twice to get repaired. Liz took care of her through all of it. She helped her become comfortable and trusting. Yala, Liz's pup said, "Here, let me help you. It's going to be great from here on out!"

It was quite an endeavor for Waffles BUT she's doing just GREAT now!!! Thank you to Becca and Liz for helping her along the way and special thanks to Ellen and her family for seeing her potential and opening up their hearts and home to this sweet girl! NO more worries Waffles.....you are sooooo loved.

We LOVE happy endings!!!

Sweet Mazy, formerly Lexie, was so scared in the shelter. We knew she needed help and, fortunately, one of our amazing fosters, Diane, said yes, I'll help her! And help her she did. Little Mazy opened up with her new foster Mama and foster fur siblings. She showed her loving personality. And, of course, her innate need to sniff everything LOL!!!

And then the day came when Norma, her new mama, saw her. Norma and her husband just couldn't NOT adopt her. So, now, Miss Mazy is living her best life. NO more worries, sweet girl! You've got it made.

These precious sisters were brought to Animal Control and were scared to death in the shelter. They were shaking and curled up in a corner, too scared to come to the front of the kennel.

We are SOOOO very grateful for Nikka for taking such great care of her and then opening her home and her heart ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Percy Adopted

Look who got his forever home!!! Yes it's Percy and he is so very happy!!!

Percy and his buddy Posey were found together in a very bad home and taken to a shelter — where Percy was so scared that he walked around with his food dish in my mouth. Those days are over now, big guy! Welcome to your loving family! Thank you so much Arianna for helping him be his best self and thank you Bob and Claire for opening your hearts and home to this sweet boy!!!

Posey

Miss Posey not only got her forever home BUT is also the first of our pups to get adopted in 2024!!

She was found together with her buddy Percy in a very bad home and taken to a shelter before getting her freedom ride. Posey is doing very well while being treated for a hurt leg, possibly due to something hard being wrapped around it. No longer leading a difficult life, Posey has hit the jackpot with her new home and is feeling all the love!!!

Thank you Arianna and Holly for fostering, and thank you Haley, Chris, and Jack for opening your hearts and home!!!!

Major

We couldn't be happier for Major!!!

Major was relinquished after being kept in a yard for the last 5 years of his life. He is blind but has learned to get along quite well. He is VERY social and loves to say hello to everyone. This boy is a VERY sweet guy.

Just look at him now! He hit the jackpot with his new forever family and knows what love is all about!

From Major's adopters: We're enjoying life more than we ever imagined with our happy, smiley boy and it makes me happy to see that he is, too. We took Major with us to my hometown for our family holiday. My family fell in love with him just as much as we have. He met my family dogs. It's almost like my sheltie knew he was blind the way he interacted with him. They were so adorable running around barking together lol  It still amazes me how well he does without being able to see.

Pixie Doodle

We are SOOO excited to share that Pixie Doodle found her home for Christmas!!! Although we love ALL of our pups, this little girl held a special place in our hearts. She was shot with BB bullets and was heartworm positive. She did not have a good start to life. But, despite this, her resiliency shows through every day in her happiness in being with her humans!!

If only we, as humans, could be so forgiving.....

Special thanks to Brooke for fostering her, then Kristyn for fostering and eventually adopting her. Pixie Doodle's first sunrise with her mama. The start of many more!!!

Look who found her forever home!!

Miss Wren, now Tuesday, with all of her fursiblings and family, couldn't be happier!!!

Special thanks to Amy and Nick (fosters) for helping her and to Lindsay, Cameron, and family for adopting her.❤️

Look who got his Christmas wish, his very own forever home!! That's right.... It's Chico!! ❤️❤️🙌🏻

We had pulled Chico from a local shelter, with a rough start to life — sadly, living outside and then owner surrendered. Despite all of this, Chico is VERY sweet and found just what he needed!!! Lots of reassurance and love.❤️

Special thanks to Ali for being willing to help, and to Robert for continuing to foster him. Thank you Crawford, Jennifer, and family for opening your hearts and home to this sweet boy!

You never have to be alone again!!!
